State of the Race: 28 Days To Go

In last week's edition of State of the Race, I promised a "deep dive" into swing state polling. However, I'm going to wait on that for a few reasons. One, I'd like to see some more info from states like Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and Ohio, as well as more "off-the-radar" states that may have been considered safe a few weeks ago. Two, we barely have any polling that reflects the three debates and Billy Bush tape aftermath. And three...I'm a little short on time this evening!

For the overall national picture, let's check in once again on the HuffPost pollster chart since August 1st:

We're clearly back in post-convention Trump meltdown territory. But again, these polls largely aren't reflecting the Billy Bush tape so it's possible that Clinton's advantage could grow another couple of points by the middle of next week. Whatever the case, there's no doubt that she's winning "bigly" with just four weeks to go until the final election day.

"Final" election day? Yep, and as a matter of fact...Ohio early voting is already starting.

As an independent blogger in Texas, I don't know what the Clinton campaign's internal polls say. Nor do I know what additional Trump scandal shoes are getting ready to be dropped. But I can say with certainty that we're headed for a landslide at this point.

With that in mind, I'm going to try to focus a little more on winning the Senate and House so that Hillary will actually be able to get some important things done as president! You saw that earlier today and you'll keep seeing more posts on downballot races in the homestretch.

Yes, Hillary is going to win this thing. But it's not time to let up...it's time to go big! Blue wave, y'all!

UPDATE: Some post 2nd debate polls are coming in and...wow...
And also this: It looks like Trump is collapsing nationwide...and no Republican is safe. Stay tuned.
