BREAKING: Donald Trump Chooses Mike Pence

The Indianapolis Star is confirming Trump's choice of running mate:
Gov. Mike Pence is dropping his re-election bid in Indiana to become Donald Trump’s running mate.

IndyStar has confirmed that Trump plans to announce Pence as his selection for vice president, ending a weeks-long vice presidential casting call during which Trump vetted a handful of high-profile Republicans.

Trump's national campaign spokeswoman, Hope Hicks, said "a decision has not been made." A formal announcement is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday in Manhattan.
My hot take: The GOP ticket is now a bizarre combination of insane, offensive egomaniac and boring, backwards ultraconservative. I don't see how this is anything but a win for Hillary Clinton.

Watch this space for updates...

  1. I love how the Hillary team did what I consider a "brush-back pitch" by throwing out the Admiral guy as a possibility for her VP pick. I think they were concerned that Trump might pick the General guy, (sorry, I don't think people will be in the picture long enough for me to learn their names :) , and they leaked out the possibility of nominating their own military guy as a response. I don't think that they didn't think they could beat a Trump/Military Guy ticket, they would just prefer someone who they have already been preparing for. Also, if geo-political trouble or terrorism crops up approaching the election, they want to have more credibility on foreign policy. It just shows they are thinking this all the way thru, while Trump is barely thinking past tomorrow!

    1. Yeah, that's just one more reason to not trust ANY of the VP speculation from Hillary's side. One day Castro is out, the next day he's right at the top. One day it's Warren, the next day she looks unlikely. The only constant is Kaine at the top. I really have no idea, but I'm still hoping for some "BREAKING: Al Franken being vetted" news! :-)
