It looks like we may be seeing some post-New York and Pennsylvania momentum for Hillary in the biggest state prize of them all:
An exclusive Eyewitness News poll conducted by SurveyUSA shows that in California, 54 percent of registered Republican voters are resigned to vote for Donald Trump and 57 percent of registered Democratic voters are resigned to vote for Hillary Clinton.
The poll, released on Monday, showed that 51 percent of registered voters and 88 percent of strong Democrats have an extremely negative view of Trump, while 14 percent of registered voters and 45 percent of strong Republicans have an extremely positive view of Trump
Trump polls at 54 percent, Ted Cruz at 20 percent and John Kasich at 16 percent.
In the Democratic presidential race in California, Hillary Clinton leads Bernie Sanders 57 percent to 38 percent.I can't speak for the Republican side, but "resigned" seems like an odd word to use for the strong Democratic support we are seeing for Hillary in California. If anything, I'd guess that the vast majority of our voters are...hmm, what are the words I'm looking for..."convinced", "happy", "excited" or "over the moon" to vote for the first woman president.
If this result holds, Bernie might want to harness his hopes for a "contested contest" this summer...because the final contests might be just as decisive as the last few.
