The New Hampshire Waiting Game

I wish I could tell you what's going to happen this evening. All the polling evidence points to a clear Bernie victory, but New Hampshire has surprised us before when it comes to Hillary. And a lot of the voters there make up their minds at the last minute. So who knows...I'm ready for anything.

The county-by-county results may start coming in after 7pm ET, but the final polls in the state close at 8pm ET. Follow along with Hillary HQ's Twitter page for all the latest.

Until then, does anyone have any guesses about the final result? Sanders by 20? Sanders by 10? Sanders by 5? Sanders by 1? Clinton by .2% (again)?

As for me, I'm gonna go against all wisdom, common sense and math and guess that Clinton will squeak it out in New Hampshire by the same margin as we saw in Iowa. Why not? If I'm wrong, it's just some wacky wishful thinking from a dedicated Hillary partisan. But if I'm right...wow, wouldn't that be impressive?

We'll see. Until then, hope for the best but brace for the worst...knowing that Hillary Clinton has some very big victories on the way in the near future.

The waiting is the hardest part...

  1. we lose by 14, and heads roll in the campaign--justifiably, I would say.

    1. I project a 9-point loss. I'd love for it to be narrower, but I'm not counting on it.

  2. I'm gonna say lose by 12. Hoping to be pleasantly surprised.

  3. early exit poll teasers not encouraging to me at all. Lots of ultra liberals, Bernie can handle health care and the economy better, two-thirds want single payer, Bernie more honest and trustworthy. Looks like a landslide. Hate to be pessimistic but this will not go well tonight. Hope this does not carry over to other contests. It shouldn't. NH is wacky and atypical.

  5. Not since 1988 has a New Hampshire primary winner gone on to win the White House. It's the Kiss Of Death. Why then would you want Hillary to win?
