Hillary News & Views 10.1: McCarthyism, Rabble Rouser, and a Huge Fundraising Haul

Today's Hillary News & Views begins with the Clinton's response to Kevin McCarthy's "revelation" that the Benghazi Committee is politically motivated. The New York Times (!) reports:
“Everybody thought Hillary Clinton was unbeatable, right?” Mr. McCarthy said. “But we put together a Benghazi special committee, a select committee, what are her numbers today? Her numbers are dropping, why? Because she’s untrustable. But no one would have known any of that had happened.”
“I have to tell you,” Mrs. Clinton told Mr. Sharpton in the interview, the transcripts of which were released Wednesday, “I find them deeply distressing,” because “I knew the ambassador that we lost in Benghazi.”
“Along with him, we lost three other brave Americans who were representing us in a very dangerous part of the world,” she said.
She continued: “So when I hear a statement like that, which demonstrates unequivocally that this was always meant to be a partisan political exercise, I feel like it does a grave disservice and dishonors not just the memory of the four that we lost, but of everybody who has served our country.”
There have been embassies “run over,” Mrs. Clinton added. “We’ve had them blown up under Ronald Reagan, under Bill Clinton. We’ve had lots of attacks where we lost Americans or foreigners working for America, under George W. Bush. We can go back and there’s a wall in the State Department, there’s a wall in the C.I.A. where we lost those civilians we lost. It’s never been turned into a partisan political battle by the majority in Congress the way the Republicans in this Congress have done.”

For the second straight quarter, Clinton's presidential campaign has set a new fundraising record.

Wall Street Journal reports:
Democrat Hillary Clinton raised more than $28 million in the third quarter, her campaign said, bringing her total haul for the year to $75 million—the most of any candidate who has announced figures so far.
Her haul puts her on track to raise the $100 million her campaign had planned to raise this year. Her campaign said 93% of her donations were for $100 or less, and women accounted for 60% of her donors. It didn’t disclose how much money the campaign has on hand.
“Thanks to our supporters, we are able to meet our goals and build an organization that can mobilize millions of voters to ensure Hillary Clinton is their fighter in the White House,” said Robby Mook, Mrs. Clinton’s campaign manager.
